Zurich appoints Nikolai Klekovkin CEO Russia

Zurich, September 21, 2009 – Zurich Financial Services Group (Zurich) has appointed Nikolai Klekovkin (40) to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Russia, effective 21 September, 2009. In this role he will report to Lutz Bauer, CEO Emerging Markets in Zurich’s Europe General Insurance division. The appointment is subject to regulatory approval.

Mr. Bauer said: “I am delighted to appoint someone with Nikolai’s strong track record to take over this key role for Zurich in one of the largest markets in Europe with high potential for continued growth. His industry and local knowledge plus outstanding leadership skills will enable him to build on Zurich’s success so far in Russia and enable us to further realise our profitable growth ambitions.”

Mr. Klekovkin has most recently been CEO of Russian Standard Insurance
and prior to that CEO of Renaissance Insurance. He also worked for McKinsey and holds a Masters of Business Administration from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Economics from State Finance Academy in Russia.

Mr. Klekovkin replaces Garry Delba who has decided to pursue new opportunities outside the company. Mr. Delba started in 2004 as President at Nasta Insurance Company. He was appointed Director General and CEO in 2007 when Zurich bought Nasta. Zurich is grateful for Mr. Delba’s achievements and Zurich’s success in Russia so far and wishes him every success in his new endeavours.
